25

Over and over
In my house
In your house
The light poured in the windows
and we caught it
The oak floor caught it
Your splayed out gold locks caught it
Sun caught in the corners of your eyes
In the tucked in curl of my smile
The laughter bounced around the room so brightly
I could touch it

We soaked such love in sunlight
That the light stayed
Creased our faces
Brightened our eyes
Hardened into gold bands

You deserve all the love poems, all of them
You are the last one, the only
The box of light, glowing with light
Glowing inward,
glowing out.
