21

I looked out big plate glass windows at the cathedral across the street, where dark downturned heads poured out of mottled doors big enough for God. There were insistent bells: BONG BONG BONG. A tram careened through the crowd from around the corner, shaking the passengers who gripped the rails with laughter in the corners of their eyes. BONG BONG BONG.  A tiny cup of coffee and a custard filled square rattled on their plates on the marble counter I leaned against, and behind me, a fire-eyed baker was drilling me with a cock as hard as the stone spires of the cathedral.
BONG BONG BONG
BONG BONG BONG
BONG BONG BONG
